For more than five years since leaving the Bench, Judge Marvin R. Halbert (Retired) has been sitting every day, "Pro Bono" (meaning without pay, for the greater good of society), as a Settlement Master at the Dispute Resolution Center in Philadelphia's City Hall. There Judge Halbert uses his years of judicial experience and wisdom to settle Civil cases (meaning non-criminal cases) on behalf of the Philadelphia Common Pleas Court.
